Anssi - drums Official Bio: Elenium, the most misfortuned band in Finland took it`s first breath already in 1995, when some Vantaa based teenagers decided to form a band. A band of melodic death metal highly inspired by countrymates Amorphis. The mission of creating original, aggressive and highly emotional metal has already taken over a decade and several line up changes, energetic live shows, studio sessions, equipment wreckage and other ups & downs. The bands style has evolved quite far from the beginning without losing it`s strong metalhearted roots. Elenium have the ability to fit in an immense amount of influences from different styles of music into it`s own metal hybrid. Elenium released their break through demo: Them Used Gods in summer 2002. The edition of 500 copies was sold out within a few months and it was praised by the underground media and by the end of the year Elenium signed a deal for 2 albums with Rage of Achilles Records. A label that was the home for several great finnish bands such as: Amoral, Omnium Gatherum, Kiuas & Manitou. Their debut full length album: For Giving For Getting was released in Europe on 10th of november 2003. In the beginning of the year 2004 it was also released in North America by The End Records. The album received great reviews (BW & BK 9/10, Kerrang 4/5) and things we`re looking good for the band after years and years of hard work. In the late 2004 The band was working on their 2nd album and had already booked a studio when they received some bad news. Rage of Achilles had gotten itself into a really bad financial situation and they couldn`t release new material anymore. The contract was terminated. Elenium kept on working on the 2nd album and after many broken down negotiations they decided to record the album and find a label afterwards. In the summer of 2005 the band entered the Sonic Pump studio again and recorded the long awaited follower of FG-FG pushing the Elenium standards higher than ever. The album was titled “Caught in a Wheel”. The band was caught in a wheel of misfortune itself and months after months were filled with negotiations with several record labels, empty promises, final moment withdrawals and 1 more bankrupted record label. This has put both the fans and the band into a test of faith and patience. Caught in a Wheel is nevertheless ready & mastered and will be released a.s.a.p. and it will damn sure be worth the pain & the wait. There will be entire songs from the new album here on MySpace before the end of 2006, so stay tuned. 06.06.2007 - It was announced that both guitarplayers have decided to leave Elenium.
